Jazz guitarist and composer Daniel Chen graduated Summa Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music. Influenced by Pat Metheny and Mike Moreno, his refined style blends technical mastery with lyrical expression. He is currently active in performance and education.
Jazz guitarist and composer Daniel Chen began his musical journey in high school. While studying at National Taiwan University, he joined the university’s jazz club, which served as his gateway into the genre. During this period, he performed with the folk-pop band "What Time Tomorrow" at various music festivals and was a member of the NTU Riot Jazz Orchestra, performing at venues such as Riverside Live House and the Yilan Performing Arts Center. In late 2016, he moved to Boston to attend Berklee College of Music, majoring in Jazz Composition and Guitar Performance. A recipient of the Achievement Scholarship and a regular on the Dean's List, he graduated Summa Cum Laude. His time in the U.S. included recording with the school's Project Band, accompanying vocalists, and hosting concerts featuring original compositions and pop arrangements. He studied guitar under Tim Miller, John Wilkins, John Baboian, and Richie Hart, and received further instruction from Mike Moreno in New York. Influenced by Peter Bernstein, Pat Metheny, and Mike Moreno, Chen released his debut EP, "LOVER’S RING," in 2010. He is currently dedicated to guitar education and performance, sharing his expertise with the wider community.
