Renowned for his exceptional groove and "silky" improvisational style, bassist Ken Chung is a versatile performer and music director. Having shared stages with icons like George Benson, he currently tours with Fish Leong and teaches at UCSI University.
Ken Chung has been a professional bassist for over 10 years, recognized for his exceptional groove playing and ability to lock in rhythmically with drummers. A versatile musician, he navigates genres including Jazz, R&B, Pop, Rock, and Latin with ease. His improvisational style is described as "silky," allowing him to connect deeply with audiences during his solos. Ken graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor’s Degree (Honors) in Professional Music (Music Arranging) from UCSI University, where he studied vocal writing, orchestration, big band and commercial arranging, advanced music production, and music business. Since then, he has served as a performer, recording artist, sessionist, music director, and songwriter. His accolades include winning the Yamaha Asianbeat band competition in 2005, where he was also named Best Bassist. Ken has shared the stage with international icons such as George Benson, Al Jarreau, John Legend, Incognito, Incubus, and Korn, as well as regional stars like Fish Leong, Michael Wong, and Gary Cao. He frequently tours internationally as a Music Director and is heavily involved in the production of various artists' albums. Currently, he balances his time touring with Fish Leong and teaching students at the UCSI University Institute of Music. He is also known for playing the Maurizio Über Basses (MüB) J5 Constellation.
