A versatile bassist active in Taipei, Liu Yu Chi transitioned from guitar to electric and double bass. With extensive experience in big bands and ensembles, he delivers a refined sound shaped by his studies under Pan Heng-chien and Lin Wei-sheng.
Liu Yu Chi is a versatile bassist who began his musical journey on guitar during his university years before dedicating himself to the electric and double bass. Immersing himself in the world of jazz, he has cultivated extensive experience performing in both big band and small ensemble settings. His musical foundation was shaped by studying jazz theory under saxophonist Pan Heng-chien and jazz performance with the esteemed US-based double bassist Lin Wei-sheng. Currently, Liu is a regular presence in the Taipei jazz scene, performing frequently across the city's various music venues.
