Tonight, where's the jazz?

2026 Brazilian Music Project
When you think of Brazilian music, do you hear the bright melodies of the flute or the festive rhythms of the cavaquinho? 'Projeto Música Brasileira' (2026 Brazilian Music Project) explores the vibrant sounds of Brazil, the only Portuguese-speaking nation in South America. Led by flutist and vocalist 張瑛蘭, the project delves into Choro, influenced by European traditions; Samba, rooted in African culture; and MPB (Música popular brasileira). It also highlights the intoxicating Bossa Nova, born from the fusion of Brazilian rhythms and North American jazz. Having performed at major events like the Taichung Jazz Festival, Kaohsiung Music Center New Year Concert, and Spring Wave Music Festival, this ensemble brings a wealth of experience to the stage. Join us for a journey through the heart of Brazilian music. Lineup: 張瑛蘭 (Flute/Vocals), 林華勁 (Guitar), 史孟航 (Percussion), 黎俊暘 (Percussion), and 蔡定揚 (Piano).
