Tonight, where's the jazz?
After a period of reflection, jazz violinist Yanbin Huang presents a set of brand-new original compositions in this concert. These pieces reflect his recent insights into various aspects of life, offering a musical space where the audience can find their own solace and resonance. For this performance, Huang is joined by three outstanding young Taiwanese musicians: pianist Yi-Hsiu Sung, double bassist Ta-Jen Liu, and drummer Ting-Chun Yeh. Through improvisational dialogue and interaction, the quartet aims to create a warm and unprecedented musical experience for the listeners. Yanbin Huang holds a Master's degree in Jazz Violin from the Bydgoszcz Academy of Music in Poland, making him the first Taiwanese jazz musician to study in Poland. His work "A Letter to Poland" was nominated for Best Jazz Single at the 16th Golden Indie Music Awards. Having studied under masters like Maciej Afanasjew, Mateusz Smoczyński, and Adam Bałdych, Huang is highly acclaimed for his unique compositional and performance style.
