Drummer Andrew Salim, a Berklee alumnus, has been a cornerstone of Taiwan’s jazz scene since 2012. He has collaborated with international stars like Helen Sung, while fostering the next generation as a dedicated educator and director.
Drummer Andrew Salim honed his craft at New York’s Drummer’s Collective and Berklee College of Music, studying under masters such as Terri Lyne Carrington, Ian Froman, Jon Hazilla, and Bob Gullotti. Since establishing his roots in Taiwan in 2012, Salim has become a vital presence in the local jazz scene, performing at major venues and festivals. His career is marked by frequent collaborations with local talent as well as international luminaries like Helen Sung, Wayne Escoffery, and Frederic Borey. Dedicated to the lineage of jazz, he serves as an adjunct professor at Fu Jen Catholic University and was formerly the Music Director of the multidisciplinary arts space Rhythm Alley.
