Hilmy Amim is a guitarist based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, primarily known as a member of the post-rock and shoegaze trio The Pale Ones. Performing alongside bassist Ian Tai and drummer Ravi Shankar, Amim contributes layered guitar work to an instrumental sound that bridges alternative rock, indie rock, midwest emo, and post-metal. Since 2019, he has maintained a prolific recording schedule, with a discography that includes the debut 'Demos', the self-titled 'The Pale Ones EP' (2019), and subsequent releases such as 'Ravana' (2020), 'Providence / Cenderawasih' (2020), 'In Threes' (2020), 'Fata Morgana' (2021), 'Lost Found' (2021), 'Charlie' (2023), and 'Lost Found II' (2024). Beyond his ensemble work, Amim is also active in music education, sharing technical expertise through classical guitar lessons such as the 'AMIM Arpeggio Pattern'.
