Huang Ting-yu is a versatile bassist for Yilith, specializing in Jazz and Fusion. An award-winning Musicians Institute graduate and former teaching assistant, he has earned top honors in major competitions, showcasing refined technical mastery.
Huang Ting-yu began his journey with the electric bass at the age of 16. His musical palette spans a wide range of genres, including Rock, Pop, Funk, Jazz, and Fusion. Currently serving as the bassist for the band Yilith, he has refined his craft under the guidance of numerous teachers both domestically and internationally. He is a graduate of the 6th Professional Electric Bass Program at Riverside Music School in Taipei. In 2016, he traveled to Los Angeles to study at the Musicians Institute (MI), where he earned a Bass Performance Certificate (BIT). His excellence was recognized with the Musicians Institute Bass Performance Outstanding Student Award in 2017, and he subsequently served as a Teaching Assistant at the institution. His competitive achievements include reaching the top six in the Taipei Undiscovered music competition and the final five in the Excelsior Wave band competition.
