A New England Conservatory graduate, Jenni Tsai is a versatile flutist bridging classical, jazz, and hip-hop. Having performed at Lincoln Center Shanghai and collaborated with Grammy winners, she brings sophisticated artistry to global stages.
Jenni Tsai is a classically trained flutist and educator whose musical journey spans classical, jazz, and popular music. Holding a Master’s degree in Flute Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music, she currently serves as an adjunct faculty member at the Soochow University Department of Music. As a versatile performer, she is a member of the Soy La Ley Afro Cuban Jazz Band, Not A Lady band, and Trio con Brio. Her extensive orchestral experience includes performances with the Boston Philharmonic, New Taipei Symphony Orchestra, Pro Arte Taipei, and Moment Musicaux Philharmonia. Tsai has been a featured performer at major international festivals, including the Shanghai JZ Jazz Festival, Hangzhou Flower Music Festival, Taichung Jazz Festival, and the Summer Jazz Party at the National Theater and Concert Hall. Her performance credits include prestigious venues such as Jazz at Lincoln Center Shanghai and Victoria Hall in Singapore. She has collaborated with acclaimed artists and Grammy-nominated or winning musicians including Jerry Gonzales, Walter Blanding, Laura Fygi, Jeremy Monteiro, Tina May, and Arno Hass. In 2017, her solo recital "Classics Without Borders" was a box-office success at the National Concert Hall, and in 2021, she performed alongside flutist Rit Xu at the Taiwan International Flute Festival. For Tsai, the flute is a tool used to express a wide variety of musical languages and fulfill the soul.
