Born blind in 1985 with perfect pitch, Jezrael Lucero is a Hong Kong-based Filipino jazz pianist and multi-instrumentalist. A musical prodigy, he began playing classical concertos at age two and has been performing publicly since the age of four. His piano technique is described as remarkably fluid and energetic, possessing a musical maturity that mentors have likened to a seasoned veteran. Beyond the keyboard, Lucero is a versatile singer, arranger, drummer, bassist, and guitarist. He is widely recognized for his stage charisma, drawing comparisons to legendary figures such as Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles. Lucero has collaborated with prominent pop artists including Sandy Lam and Khalil Fong. A significant milestone in his career is the collaboration with vocalist Roger Chung on the album "Song Book," a vocal-piano duo project that reimagines classic Cantopop standards as jazz pieces. The album was recorded live in the studio to capture the raw spontaneity and authenticity of his improvisational style.
