An emerging jazz bassist from Taiwan, Li Cheng-yuan won second place at the 2019 Taichung Jazz Festival. He has performed at major festivals and venues, collaborating with icons like Rich Huang and Hsieh Yu-wei.
Li Cheng-yuan is a jazz bassist currently studying in the Jazz Division of the Music Department at National Dong Hwa University. An emerging talent in the scene, his performance credits include the Taichung Jazz Festival, the Blowing Sea Breeze Music Festival, and the Dadaocheng International Festival of Arts. He has also served as a member of host bands at renowned venues such as Sappho Live Jazz, Riverside Live House, and Blue Note. His accolades include winning second place in the 2019 Taichung Jazz Festival Band Competition. Notable collaborations and projects include Hsieh Yu-wei’s "Jazz Night Golden Voice" (2020), Rich Huang’s "LET’S SWING! ENCORE!" (2021), and the "Vibe Simulator" project at the 2023 Taipei Jazz Festival.
