Tonight, where's the jazz?

Between Notes and the City | Celine Shue & Taku Saito
"Between Notes and Cities" is an intimate afternoon duo concert featuring Taiwanese jazz vocalist Celine Shue and Japanese guitarist Taku Saito. Set against the backdrop of Kaohsiung Port, the performance draws inspiration from cross-cultural journeys, blending jazz standards, modern textures, and Asian melodic languages into a "sonic city diary." Celine Shue is celebrated for her pure, storytelling voice that merges NYC's improvisational spirit with Eastern delicacy. Taku Saito, a graduate of the University of North Texas, brings a wealth of international experience, having collaborated with members of Snarky Puppy and Grammy winner Chris Bell. A regular performer at Tokyo's Cotton Club and leader of the band Multty, Saito’s guitar work complements Shue’s vocals in a performance that is gentle, introspective, and deeply emotive.
