The first Taiwanese jazz violinist to study in Poland, Huang Yen-pin was mentored by Adam Bałdych. His GIMA-nominated album "A Letter to Poland" showcases a refined blend of European jazz influence and soulful, expressive performance.
Huang Yen-pin is a distinguished jazz violinist and the first Taiwanese musician to pursue professional jazz studies in Poland. He holds a Master’s degree in Jazz Violin Performance from the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz and is a graduate of the Department of Applied Music at Tainan National University of the Arts. During his time in Poland, he studied under Professor Maciej Afanasjew and received advanced instruction in jazz performance and composition from Professor Mateusz Smoczyński at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. He also received individual mentorship from the acclaimed Adam Bałdych, who highly praised his original compositions and performance style. Huang’s album "A Letter to Poland" received critical acclaim, earning a nomination for Best Jazz Single at the 16th Golden Indie Music Awards. He is an active performer at major jazz festivals and cultural events across Taiwan.
