Berlin-based pianist Falk Bonitz leads a trio blending Lyric Latin Jazz with classical influences from Debussy to Chick Corea. His music ranges from poetic ballads to powerful grooves, reflecting a sophisticated, global jazz perspective.
Falk Bonitz is a Berlin-based jazz pianst, composer, and the leader of the Falk Bonitz Trio. Formed in 2012, the trio features Yatziv Caspi on drums and Noriaki Hosoya on bass. Bonitz's musical language is a sophisticated blend of Lyric Latin Jazz, Modern Jazz, and Classical influences, drawing inspiration from late Romanticism composers like Debussy and Brahms, as well as jazz legends Chick Corea and Michel Camilo. His compositions range from poetic, dreamy ballads to powerful, groove-driven explosions that transcend Latin American music stereotypes, linking expressionistic harmonies with modern jazz gestures. Educated at HMT Rostock, Bonitz brings a diverse background as a theater musician and soul keyboardist to his work. The trio's debut album, "Märzsonne," was released in 2013. Bonitz has performed extensively across the globe, including concerts in Germany, Ukraine, France, Japan, Italy, Poland, Iraq, and Georgia.
