Seattle-based drummer and composer Soloman David is a versatile percussionist blending jazz, classical, and contemporary styles. A co-founder of RE:Percussion Duo, he is celebrated for his sophisticated session work and dynamic contributions to the Pacific Northwest music scene.
Soloman David is a versatile drummer, percussionist, educator, and composer based in Seattle, Washington. He holds a Master of Music in Instrumental Performance (Percussion) from the University of Washington (2014) and a Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance from the University of Iowa, where he also earned a K-12 Teaching Certificate. David's musical range spans classical, jazz, contemporary, popular, and various world styles. Since moving to Seattle in 2012, he has performed with the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra, Seattle Collaborative Orchestra, and the Saratoga Orchestra. His collaborations in the local scene include The Lucy Horton Band, The Fraidies, and Tofte. He is also a co-founder of the electro-acoustic percussion duo RE:Percussion Duo and is active in recording session work. During his graduate studies, he worked with notable mentors including Tom Collier, Mike Crusoe, Cuong Vu, and Steve Korn. He is affiliated with the Percussive Arts Society, the Improvised Music Project, and Phi Beta Kappa.
