A distinguished jazz drummer and Berklee alumnus, Chi-lung Hsieh blends a classical percussion background from the Ju Percussion Group with refined jazz techniques. Mentored by legends like Bob Gullotti, he brings a sophisticated, multi-faceted rhythmic sensibility to the stage.
Chi-lung Hsieh is a distinguished jazz drummer whose musical foundation was built on early studies in percussion and piano. During his university years, he honed his craft as a member of the prestigious Ju Percussion Group, gaining significant performance experience. He furthered his education at Berklee College of Music in the United States, majoring in Jazz Drum Performance. Hsieh’s artistic development has been shaped by mentorship from legendary drummers Bob Gullotti, Ian Forman, Neal Smith, and Mark Walker, along with Latin percussionist Eguie Castrillo. His professional journey also includes collaborations and studies with esteemed musicians such as trumpeters Lin Biviano and Jason Palmer, and bassists Ron Mahdi and Lello Molinari.
