Hong Kong jazz pianist and composer Kingston Lo blends keyboard synthesis with diverse genres. A Brunel University alumnus and former Franklin Telescope member, he bridges jazz, pop, and rock through innovative performance and dedicated music education.
Kingston Lo is a Hong Kong-based jazz pianists, composer, and dedicated music educator with a profound interest in keyboard synthesis. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Musical Composition with first-class honors from Brunel University London, where he studied under the mentorship of John Bailey and Tom Cawley. His musical career has been marked by diverse collaborations, most notably as the keyboardist for the indie rock band Franklin Telescope from 2016 to 2024. During this period, he composed tracks such as "Lovestruck" and the instrumental piece "First Try" for the album Burst Into Your Quirky Soul, gaining international recognition on platforms like White Noise Records and J-Wave. Lo has also collaborated with Triple G since 2016, contributing to the single "列車". His solo debut, "Bedlam Waltz," features a collaboration with members of the band The Code. Lo has performed extensively across Asia, including appearances at Singapore’s Baybeats 2023 with HIRSK, and Taiwan’s Gima Asia Rolling Music Festival and La Rue Music Art Festival with Room 307. As an educator, he views jazz as a versatile language connecting various genres including pop, rock, funk, and RnB. He specializes in teaching jazz piano, composition, and synthesizer sound design, advocating for musical expression that transcends the boundaries of genre and history.
