Tonight, where's the jazz?


Award-winning Scottish saxophonist, composer, and bandleader Scott Murphy has established himself as a prominent figure in the international jazz scene since relocating to Hong Kong in 2018. Renowned for his deep emotional connection with audiences, Scott has collaborated with Grammy winners and global icons such as Kendrick Scott, Will Vinson, Janek Gwizdala, and legendary singer Billy Ocean, as well as Hong Kong stars like Hins Cheung, George Lam, and RubberBand. His compositional prowess has earned him commissions from the BBC and performances at prestigious events like the Singapore Jazz Festival. His latest album, "a dream of form," features a world-class lineup including Janek Gwizdala and Daniel Chu. For this performance, Scott joins forces with keyboardist Bowen Li and vocalist Rachel Sung to present a series of original compositions inspired by family and life experiences, interspersed with beloved jazz standards. Expect an evening of warmth, positivity, and heartfelt storytelling, balanced with a touch of humor and sincere musical dialogue.
