When Japanese soul-jazz powerhouse Geila Zilkha and guitar maestro Shunji Takenaka take the stage, the city falls silent to the heartbeat of the night. Reuniting after 15 years, this legendary duo arrives in Taipei with their 2025 masterpiece, "Moon Express." Geila Zilkha, a Berklee College of Music alumna and winner of the Kobe Jazz Vocal Queen contest, is renowned for her stunning performances at New York's Apollo Theater and her work with J-pop icon MISIA. Joining her is Shunji Takenaka, a guitar authority celebrating his 40th anniversary in the industry and a Grand Prize winner of the IMS International Jazz Competition. Together, they reimagine classics from Antonio Carlos Jobim to Dolly Parton, blending R&B, Bossa Nova, and Pop into a sophisticated wave of sound. Described by critics as a "soul-stirring vocal dialogue," this performance promises an intimate and dreamlike jazz experience under the moonlight.
