Tonight, where's the jazz?

Yuppie Afternoon Tea: Echoes Across a Decade - From 1971 London to 1981 Taipei
Join us for a musical journey titled 'Echoes Across a Decade,' a special afternoon performance bridging 1971 London and 1981 Taipei. This concert explores the ten-year gap between the golden era of Western pop and the transition of Taiwan's folk music into urban pop. Vocalist Jessie Lin, known for her magnetic, effortless style and lazy jazz-chanson temperament, joins pianist Yang Da-li to re-align these two brilliant eras. The repertoire features legendary masterpieces including the Grammy-winning 'You’ve Got a Friend,' the breathtaking 'Vincent,' and the Eagles' classic 'Desperado.' The dialogue continues with Mandopop milestones like 'Olive Tree,' 'Tell Me You Love Me,' and the poetic 'Words of Love.' Through Jessie's soulful storytelling and Yang's atmospheric piano, the 'time difference' dissolves, leaving only the profound resonance of music that transcends borders and generations.
