Tonight, where's the jazz?

Projeto Música Brasileira
When you think of Brazilian music, do you hear the bright, crisp melodies of a flute or the festive, rhythmic strumming of a guitar? Initiated by flutist 張瑛蘭, the "Projeto Música Brasileira" (Brazilian Music Project) takes audiences on a vibrant journey into the heart of South American grooves. The repertoire explores the European-influenced Choro, the Afro-Brazilian rhythms of Samba, the diverse sounds of MPB (Música Popular Brasileira), and the intoxicating, jazz-infused Bossa Nova. Having graced stages like the Taichung Jazz Festival, the project arrives at Sappho Live Jazz for an enchanting evening. The lineup features 張瑛蘭 on flute and vocals, 林華勁 on guitar, 史孟航 and 黎俊暘 on percussion, and 蔡定揚 on piano. Following the main performance, the night continues at 11:30 PM with a Late Night Jam hosted by the Andy Ferris Trio.
