Malaysian singer-songwriter Dasha Logan blends jazz, soul, and R&B with elegance. Inheriting a rich musical legacy, she made history as the first Malaysian to top the UK Soul Chart with her hit single "Cleverly."
Dasha Logan, born Priyadashini Loganathan on December 17, 1987, in Penang, Malaysia, is a professional singer-songwriter specializing in jazz, soul, and R&B. She inherited a rich musical legacy as the daughter of Loganathan Arumugam, a founding member and co-lead singer of the iconic Malaysian band Alleycats. Logan began her professional singing career at the age of 17 in her hometown of Penang, initially performing a repertoire that included jazz standards in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. She completed her secondary education at Saint Xavier's Institution and later earned a diploma in Mass Communications from Kolej Damansara Utama. A significant milestone in her career occurred in December 2014 when her debut single "Cleverly" reached the number one spot on the UK Soul Chart. This achievement earned her a place in the Malaysian Book of Records as the first Malaysian to have a number one hit on an international chart. She was subsequently nominated for Best Female Artist at the MET10 Awards in 2015. Her discography includes the studio album "Over You," released in 2021, and various singles such as "Leave Your Man," "Nice!," "Hopeless Romantic," and "Bangai Sungai Maya" from the Kabali soundtrack. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with notable musicians, including Amy Winehouse’s guitarist Robbin Banerjee and vocalists such as ROZZ and Poova. In addition to her vocal performances, Logan is also a part-time radio announcer on Mix FM.
