Hope Yeh is a prominent jazz guitarist and educator based in Taiwan. A graduate of the Department of Electrical Engineering at National Tsing Hua University, Yeh's musical journey took a definitive turn in 2004 when he received a full scholarship to the first Taipei Summer Jazz Camp, prompting him to pursue professional music studies abroad. He earned his Master’s degree in Jazz Guitar Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in Belgium, where he studied under renowned musicians Fabien Degryse and Peter Hertmans. His musical style is deeply influenced by masters such as Pat Metheny, Jonathan Kreisberg, Will Vinson, and Ari Hoenig. During his time in Europe, he collaborated with numerous European musicians, developing a modern jazz sound characterized by innovative harmonic and rhythmic elements. In addition to ensemble playing, Yeh is a skilled fingerstyle guitarist, drawing inspiration from Joe Pass, Martin Taylor, and Sylvain Luc to perform intricate solo arrangements that incorporate guitar, bass, and percussion roles simultaneously. His discography includes the self-titled album with the band HopeLazz (2013) and his solo guitar album, The White One (2016). Beyond performing, Yeh is a dedicated educator who founded HopeMusic studio, serves as a lecturer at the Tainan National University of the Arts, and authored the instructional book "Guitar Without Obstacles."
