Zong-Lin Zhan is a compelling rising jazz pianist hailing from a musical family. Beginning his jazz journey at the age of 14, he later honed his craft at the Sizhukong ensemble classes under the tutelage of renowned pianist Tseng Tseng-yi. His musicality is deeply rooted in Bebop and Hard Bop, yet he seamlessly integrates elements of Funk, R&B, Hip-Hop, and Fusion into his versatile repertoire. Zhan’s prowess has been recognized through numerous accolades, including first place at the 2017 Taipei Jazz Festival 'Jazz Newcomer Competition' with his quartet '8 Liang 7 Qian 6 Fen 5 Hao.' He continued his success by securing first place at the 2018 Taichung Jazz Festival Competition with 'Ride On Time,' followed by a second-place finish in 2019 with his trio 'Hello, we are:'. A fixture in the live circuit, Zhan frequently performs at venues such as Riverside Music, Blue Note, and Sappho, and currently serves as a house band member for jam sessions at Riverside Music and Blue Note.
