Tonight, where's the jazz?

In the 'Jazz Future' series, Hong Kong guitarists Michael Chan and Darwin Hui come together for a compelling double-guitar performance. Michael Chan, who discovered his passion for jazz while studying International Relations in the UK, has developed a sophisticated musical language under the mentorship of Chris Parks and local masters such as Ted Lo and Patrick Lui. A co-founder of 'Fountain de Chopin' and a regular at major festivals like Clockenflap, Michael is a key figure in the local scene. He is joined by Darwin Hui, whose modern sound is influenced by Kurt Rosenwinkel and John Scofield. Darwin uniquely blends his photographic eye with melodic exploration. Together, they reinterpret jazz standards with a focus on dynamic interaction and spontaneous dialogue, showcasing the refined energy of Hong Kong's next generation of jazz musicians.
