Tonight, where's the jazz?

The Gurrling is a Hong Kong-based indie singer-songwriter known for her ethereal music and delicate narratives. Drawing inspiration from her personal journals, she explores recurring themes of grief, hope, and love through poetic lyrics and folk-inspired melodies. Her music eschews grandiosity, opting instead for subtle emotional shifts that invite listeners into her intimate inner world. For this performance, she is joined by flutist Wyn, drummer Mason, and special guest Mr Koo (Ollie Andrew Koo Rodgers). Together, they infuse her folk foundations with jazz, classical, and blues elements, creating a multi-layered sonic experience. Mr Koo, renowned for his nostalgic sound blending soul, blues, bedroom pop, and funk, brings a soft, hazy texture to the collaboration, finding a natural intersection between their distinct storytelling styles.
