Tonight, where's the jazz?

On the evening of May 28, alto saxophonist Hum leads the Hum Quartet, bringing together four rising stars of the Hong Kong jazz scene. Centered on traditional jazz language, the ensemble places a strong emphasis on live interaction and ensemble interplay. Hum has been a prominent figure in the local circuit in recent years, with experience in the Hong Kong Youth Jazz Orchestra and various jazz training programs. His playing is deeply rooted in the traditions of Swing and Bebop. For this performance, he is joined by tenor saxophonist Brian Cheung, bassist Evette Chiu, and drummer Tony Sze. Despite their diverse backgrounds, all four musicians share a profound understanding of jazz traditions. This performance offers a chance to experience the vibrant energy of a new generation of musicians firmly establishing their presence in the local jazz scene.
