Tonight, where's the jazz?

Trombone Nomad
Trombone Nomad is a newly formed trombone quartet dedicated to exploring the diverse possibilities of jazz through an unconventional ensemble format. Drawing inspiration from innovative European groups like the Vertigo Trombone Quartet and traditional jazz a cappella ensembles, the group reimagines jazz standards through original arrangements that highlight the unique textures and timbres of a trombone quartet. Their sound emphasizes the expressive power of the instrument, creating warm, modern harmonic layers and a brass choir-like structure. Led by Macanese jazz trombonist 黃永豪, the ensemble features professionally trained Hong Kong trombonists. This performance features special guest vocalist Adrianna Tang, joining the quartet to perform rearranged jazz standards and Cantopop favorites. Through the interplay between vocals and brass, the performance offers a unique listening experience that bridges jazz traditions with local musical heritage.
